Derrick Rose, the former MVP and point guard of the Chicago Bulls has been dealing with loads of criticism. Both those criticizing him for not playing and those criticizing the critics for being critical. Everyone needs to shut the hell up. The reality of it is we are all right and wrong at the same time.
Never in multiple universes and centuries would I ever think that I would be praising Rush Limbaugh, but holy shit… I am. Through all of the horrible reporting that had been going on after the horrible Boston Bombing, no one had apologized. CNN stood there and just moved on, not saying anything, not even a whoops or a dammit to show a screw up. The AP, who is essentially the media filter outlet that most news flows through, didn’t apologize nor recognize that they screwed up royal. FOX relied on CNN and their sources thus looking like asshats as well, but Rush Limbaugh… actually apologized for not checking and double checking sources… Oh. My. God.
Mike Huckabee, a fundamentalist Christian who has his regular talk show on FOX News, has taken time out of explaining how school killings are due to the lack of God, to enlighten us on the real problem within the GOP. They might be ok with being gay. Huckabee was joined by crazy man Tony Perkins who heads the bitchy Family Research Council (FRC) and soon to be forgotten Gary Bauer who main goal in life is to make gays second class citizens with his National Organization for Marriage (NOM).
The threat made by all 3 men is that if the Republican party for some reason accepts homosexuals for the dastardly sin of making their own individual choices, that they will leave the GOP and form a new party, a 3rd party for evangelical Christians to feel confident about. I say go ahead, see how that works.
Howard Schultz has been openly pro gay civil rights for awhile now, but it came to a head when stockholder Tom Strobhar complained that Starbucks backing a same-sex marriage bill in Washington was hurting their bottom line.
“In the first full quarter after this boycott was announced, our sales and our earnings — shall we say politely — were a bit disappointing,” said Strobher, who is the founder of the anti-abortion, anti-gay Corporate Morality Action Center (CMAC). Howard Schultz fired back and showed rare humility from a Corporation.
Now I have written about the Tea Party several times and some of the ass backwards thought processes they have, but I also do agree with some of their views and thoughts in principle. What I agree with is that government should be transparent, that civil liberties should be restored and that government needs to get its hands off certain things. I also agree that Obamacare is a very stuffed piece of legislation, necessary though it is. Where they lose me is by refusing, at all, to be moderate or to work with liberals or democrats at all. It is what coined the Tea Party as the party of no. With darlings like Sarah Palin, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio they feel like they have taken it to the establishment of the GOP and showed them that they, the Tea Party, mean business. What they have really done in retrospect, is decimate their own political goals using a mixture of cut and paste and smash and grab.
Here is the gif that ruined a basketball program. RIP Georgetown basketball.
We fill our brackets against one of my classmates Adrienne and I take major risks this year in picks. Alaso why did LeBron end Jason Terry’s career with a dunk?!
The Philidelphia Phillies! The king of all dick moves in sports has reached a new low in baseball. Now salary dumps are normal and teams are willing to trade stars or good players for players with expiring contracts in order to free cap for one reason or the other. I generally don’t complain about those things because they make those trades with the future in mind.
But what did the Phillies trade RHP Mike Cisco to the Angels for?
I know that it seems a bit… humorous for myself, a game reviewer, to complain about reviews. That it seems I am possibly going against my own reviews to a degree. If you check out my Call of Duty: Black Ops II review you will see that I gave it credit for what it was, an online game, but disliked it for the same reasons. I gave it credit on futuristic weapons and the like, but scathed its half-assed story and characters.
My whole point here is my major problem with Game Informer. GI, the lengthy arm of Gamestop review juggernaut that most people look at as generally laughable. My problem with Game Informer isn’t their reviews as much as it is their inconsistency. Allow me to elaborate.
With NFL free agency coming faster than The Catholic Church picking a Pope, we can now get all aboard the speculation train. In light of that here is a run down of cap space for each team as well as the top 50 free agents per NFL Trade Rumors.
