Video Game Attack Reviews: DmC: Devil May Cry

The story of Devil May Cry is always one that draws interest. The game series was originally made by accident when they were attempting to make a new Resident Evil. They spawned this amazing hack and slash demon game and are now at a gracious 5th installment. We know Dante, we know Vergil and we know Mundus, we know the whole ordeal. What we didn’t get to witness was how Dante and Vergil fell apart, how they differed in both opinion and action. How was Dante when he was much younger and when did he unlock his true potential? How did the world fall into a seemingly infinite chaos and how are the twin Nephilim are intertwined within this story? Here is your DmC review.

Want To Get Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Early? Demo Release Date and New Video.

Well Konami is taking it to the extremes for the fans of the Metal Gear universe. They are offering 250 fans the chance to play Metal Gear Rising before anyone else if they do one little thing. Throw a Metal Gear themed party and have people come there to play the game and we can only assume these same partiers will somehow make a drinking game out of this. Every time Raiden complains about something, drink, every time Raiden talks about his past, drink, every time you encounter a Metal Gear, drink. Seems fun? Well since I am a red blooded American I have bad news for us…

Elder Scrolls Online. Screenshots Look Amazing.

So if you’re like me, you buy Bethesda’s now bi-annually sandbox love affair between Elder Scrolls and Fallout. Both if which are regular best sellers and garner huge sales in DLC. Well, MMO’s are difficult to do, but with so many people leaving World of Warcraft it has left a vacancy for players looking for a new and vast challenge. Here we have that possible successor.

I’m Done Playing First Person Shooters

Seriously, I cannot comprehend this

Here in America FPS games tend to rule both purchasing power as well as the online community. From Halo to Call of Duty it seems to be a majority of what people are playing competitively save the first 2 months of Madden and NCAA Football. I enjoyed playing Halo 4 and I did buy it when it came out, but I have reached a point where I am just finished with it.

I enjoy the senseless violence just like any 24 year old college guy and it can be a fantastic waste of hours playing online with a group of friends, but the hidden cost is what ends it for me. Look at games like Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, it has DLC that comes out over the span of months to even a year, but the game itself it complete. They come up with new ideas as well as additional storylines that would enhance the gaming experience. I have no problem paying a bit of extra coin to gain extra weapons, armor, quests and generally between 10-25 more hours of game play. What Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Halo 4 and Battlefield 3 have done is take a game and essentially steal your money and I personally, am done with it.

Skyrim has been one of the best games of 2012 and after the release of Dawnguard and the story of vampires vs hunters (more importantly you get a crossbow), Bethesda releases Dragonborn. Dragonborn takes you to the island of Solstheim where a lot has been going on since the events of Red Mountain and Elder Scrolls III: Marrowind. The first Dragonborn may be on Solstheim and here is your review of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC Dragonborn.

Many games have changed and both failed and succeeded and that is no more apparent than the Far Cry series which has had its ups and downs. Far Cry was a unique entry into the gaming world with its free roam story line that involved mutated monster experiments, mercenaries and a mix of stealth and fire-fighting. Far Cry 2 changed things up, giving you the option to select from several different mercenaries and work with and against warring factions in order to find and kill a target known only as The Jackal. With Far Cry 3, you have the story style of Far Cry 2 mixed with the environment of the original Far Cry. In the arena of open world RPG’s does Far Cry 3 set itself up against the likes of Skyrim? Does it fall flat like Operation Flashpoint? Here is your review of Far Cry 3.

Ruining Resident Evil One Movie/Game at a Time

The real battle is sitting through this.

Have you seen the most recent Resident Evil flick? No? Good. I gave up on this movie franchise years and movies ago. Hell I am nearly done with the damn game series that started it all. It truly pains me to be honest like that because I love the Resident Evil story. The characters, enemies, weapons, plots and twists that were contained within each game were amazing and spawned a lot of great games outside of the RE franchise (think Silent Hill, Dino Crisis). There comes a point though where you do too much, you dig too deep and essentially try too hard. That is what we have seen with the entire Resident Evil movie series and the recent installations of the game series. It pains me, but they need to stop. They need to let this franchise end temporarily and here’s why.

The Hitman series has been a favorite of mine for years. For the same reason I enjoyed Splinter Cell, this series allows you to be the silent hunter who can go along with their mission however however you decide to dictate it. It has been 6 long years since our last Hitman game and since then they released a movie that we all quickly forgot about. Can Hitman: Absolution improve on the previous titles and extend the storyline of Agent 47? Here’s your review.
